This disclaimer applies to the website https://www.ecointel.io, the EcoIntel platform at https://app.ecointel.io, and all data, scores, reports, and other outputs (together the “Service”) provided by Ecological Intelligence Ltd (“EcoIntel”). The Service is provided to business customers, as set out in our Terms of Service.

Alpha release

EcoIntel is currently in alpha development. The platform, website, and all associated services are under active development and testing. They may contain significant bugs and have not yet been fully calibrated. Features, data outputs, scoring methodologies, and the user interface may change substantially without notice.

Access to EcoIntel during the alpha phase is provided exclusively through our Founding Members programme, whose members acknowledge that the system is in an early stage of development.

Indicative and illustrative purpose

All information, data, scores, maps, and outputs provided through the free demonstration Service are provided for illustrative and educational purposes only, to demonstrate the platform’s capabilities and approach, and should not be relied upon for commercial, regulatory, investment, financial, planning, or decision-making purposes.

For paid subscribers, outputs are provided with reasonable care and skill as an indicative screening and diagnostic aid to inform — not replace — your own judgement and independent professional advice. Because the platform is in alpha and the outputs are modelled estimates rather than ground-truthed surveys, you should not treat them as the sole basis for high-stakes decisions, and should obtain independent professional advice where a decision is significant.

Not an MRV system

EcoIntel is not a Measurement, Reporting and Verification (MRV) system. The data and outputs we provide are indicative information for illustrative purposes only and do not constitute verified measurements, certified reports, or validated assessments under any formal standard, including but not limited to VCS, Gold Standard, Plan Vivo, ISO 14064-2, the GHG Protocol, TNFD LEAP, CSRD/ESRS E4, or any national or regional carbon-credit scheme.

Cross-checks against authoritative public reference datasets that appear within EcoIntel reports are internal corroboration intended to support better carbon and land-health management. They are not formal verification and should not be presented as such to any third party.

Not professional advice

The content of the Service is not professional ecological, environmental, agricultural, legal, financial, investment, or planning advice. We are not advising you on what to do with your land, your business, your money, or your compliance obligations.

You should not act, or refrain from acting, solely on the basis of information from the Service without seeking independent professional advice tailored to your specific circumstances where the decision is significant.

Data limitations

Our ecological data and assessments:

• Are derived from remote sensing and publicly available datasets, which have inherent limitations in resolution, accuracy, and currency.
• Represent modelled estimates, not ground-truthed field surveys.
• Have not yet been fully calibrated and may contain significant inaccuracies.
• May not reflect the most recent changes to land use or ecological conditions.
• Are provided as an indicative screening tool, not as a definitive assessment.

Satellite signal can be affected by cloud cover, sensor calibration, atmospheric conditions, and the model assumptions used to translate signal into ecological indicators. Field-level scores are statistical estimates, not direct measurements.

No warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent permitted by law, EcoIntel disclaims all warranties (express or implied), including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, completeness, reliability, and non-infringement, and does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components.

Limitation of liability

For the paid Service, the limitation of liability in section 11 of our Terms of Service governs and prevails over this section. For the free website and demonstration Service, and to the fullest extent permitted by law, EcoIntel will not be liable for loss or damage arising from your access to or use of, or your reliance on, the free Service.

Nothing in this disclaimer excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

Third-party content

The Service may incorporate or link to third-party data, content, and services (including but not limited to Sentinel-2 satellite data via Copernicus, ERA5-Land climate data via ECMWF, OpenStreetMap basemaps, and various national datasets). We have no control over the accuracy, completeness, or availability of third-party content and accept no responsibility for it.

We may update this Disclaimer at any time. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will reflect any revisions.
