Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Ecological Intelligence Ltd (“EcoIntel”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://www.ecointel.io and on the EcoIntel platform at https://app.ecointel.io.
It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use the personal data we collect.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them more efficient, and to provide information to the site owners. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and tags. For simplicity we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies and similar essential storage are required for the Service to function. They cannot be switched off in our systems. Examples include cookies (and essential local or session storage) that:
- Keep you signed in to the EcoIntel platform and maintain your session securely.
- Protect against cross-site request forgery and other security threats.
- Route your requests through our CDN.
These do not store any personally identifiable information beyond what is necessary to deliver the Service.
Functional and preference storage
The EcoIntel platform also keeps a small amount of first-party storage on your device to remember choices you make and the state of your session — for example, keeping you signed in, remembering that you have dismissed a notice or banner, or that you have completed a step of onboarding. This storage is set in response to your own actions, stays on your device, and is not used to track you across sites, to advertise to you, or to build a profile.
Analytics (cookieless)
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the website (which pages are viewed, and the sites people arrive from). It is cookieless and privacy-first by design: it sets no cookies, does not track you across sites, and reports only anonymous, aggregate data that does not identify you.
Because it uses no cookies and does not identify individuals, our analytics requires no consent, and we set no analytics cookies. We do not use Google Analytics.
Marketing cookies
We do not currently set marketing cookies. If we introduce them in future, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for fresh consent before any such cookie is set.
3. Third-party cookies
We use two third-party services that may involve cookies:
- Stripe. Payments are handled by Stripe on Stripe’s own systems. Any cookies Stripe uses for secure payment and fraud prevention are set by Stripe, on Stripe’s domain, under Stripe’s own cookie policy, not by us.
- Cloudflare. Provides CDN, security and bot protection across the Service, and may set a strictly-necessary security cookie (for example to manage bot traffic). Our Cloudflare Web Analytics is cookieless and sets none.
Any such cookies are strictly necessary (payment integrity and security), so no consent is required, and we set no analytics or marketing cookies of our own.
4. How to control cookies
Because we use only strictly necessary cookies, functional storage set in response to your own choices, and cookieless analytics — and no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies — there is no consent banner to manage. You can still control cookies and local storage through your browser:
- Your browser. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies. The “Help” menu in your browser will explain how. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our practices. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will show when it was last revised.
