Cookie Policy
This Cookie Policy explains how Ecological Intelligence Ltd (“EcoIntel”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies on https://ecointel.io and on the EcoIntel platform at https://app.ecointel.io.
It should be read alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we use the personal data we collect.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, to make them more efficient, and to provide information to the site owners. Similar technologies include local storage, session storage, pixels, and tags — for simplicity we refer to all of these as “cookies” in this policy.
2. Categories of cookies we use
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are required for the Service to function. They cannot be switched off in our systems. Examples include cookies that:
- Keep you logged in to the EcoIntel platform.
- Remember your cookie consent preferences.
- Protect against cross-site request forgery and other security threats.
- Route your requests through our CDN.
These cookies do not store any personally identifiable information beyond what is necessary to deliver the Service.
Analytics cookies
We use analytics cookies to understand how visitors use the website — which pages are viewed, how long people spend on each, and what they click on. This helps us improve the Service.
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which is server-side and cookie-light by design, and (on a limited basis) Google Analytics 4 for richer behavioural insight where enabled. Both are configured to anonymise IP addresses.
Analytics cookies are loaded only with your consent. You can change your preferences at any time.
Marketing cookies
We do not currently set marketing cookies. If we introduce them in future, this policy will be updated and you will be asked for fresh consent before any such cookie is set.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies are set by third-party services we use:
- Stripe — for payment processing. Stripe may set cookies on the checkout page to enable secure card payments and fraud prevention.
- Cloudflare — for CDN, security and bot protection across the entire Service.
- Google Analytics — for behavioural analytics, where you have consented.
These third parties have their own privacy and cookie policies, which apply to the cookies they set.
4. How to control cookies
You can control cookies in several ways:
- Our cookie banner — when you first visit the site, a banner asks for your consent to non-essential cookies. You can update your choices at any time via the banner’s settings link.
- Your browser — most browsers let you block or delete cookies. The “Help” menu in your browser will explain how. Note that blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the Service from working.
- Opt-out tools — for Google Analytics specifically, see https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
5. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our practices. The “Last updated” date at the top of the page will show when it was last revised.
